1. Who We Are

Energy-Data.io is a brand of Onyx Dynamics Ltd, a company registered in Mauritius.

Onyx Dynamics Ltd

Email: info@energy-data.io

These Terms govern all contracts between Onyx Dynamics Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) and business customers (“you”, “Client”) concerning the Energy-Data.io platform, including the Agentic Service, API access, MCP connectors, and any related tools. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service Is

Energy-Data.io is an AI-assisted energy analytics platform. It includes:

  • AI-assisted chat guidance and automated workflow execution (the Agentic Service)
  • REST API and MCP connectors for degree-day and weather data
  • Dashboards, charts, and reporting tools
  • File import and data processing (CSV, XLS, XLSX, PDF, and other formats as made available)
  • Weather and degree-day analysis
  • Regression and measurement and verification (M&V) workflows
  • SQL-assisted data queries
  • Shared dashboard links

3. Accounts

You must create an account to access most features. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure, all activity that occurs under your account, and notifying us at info@energy-data.io if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms, engage in abuse, or present a security risk.

4. API and MCP Connector Accounts

Developer accounts can create API keys and authorize MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors linked to the same Energy-Data.io account used for the web platform.

API and MCP usage is metered in credits allocated per billing period according to your plan. Credits reset at the start of each billing period. Unused credits do not roll over.

Trial and other free-tier accounts may include a limited number of complimentary API or MCP credits at our discretion. We do not guarantee the availability, volume, or duration of free credits.

Third-party AI assistants and chat agents — including Anthropic Claude and OpenAI ChatGPT — can connect to your account via OAuth or MCP and call Energy-Data.io tools on your behalf. Usage by a connected client consumes credits from your account. You are responsible for authorizations you grant, revoking access when no longer needed, and monitoring usage in the developer portal.

5. Your Workspace

Each account is linked to an isolated database instance hosted via Supabase, Inc. on Amazon Web Services, Inc. infrastructure in the European region. Your data is logically separated from all other users. You own your data at all times. You can delete it at any time, including through prompts within the Service. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. We maintain operational backups, but you are solely responsible for exporting data you consider critical.

6. Plans, Trials, and Billing

Plan structure

The Service is offered on tiered plans including Trial, Pro, and MAX. Features, usage allowances, and pricing differ by plan. Current details are published on our pricing page.

Trial

New accounts receive a 7-day trial. After the trial, paid features require a subscription upgrade. We may adjust trial terms at any time with notice.

Usage limits

Each plan carries usage caps. When you reach a cap, requests may be blocked until the next billing period or until you upgrade. We reserve the right to throttle usage to protect service availability for all users.

Billing

Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our Merchant of Record. You transact through Paddle’s checkout. Paddle handles your billing and payment data under their own terms. We receive only the transaction details needed to activate your subscription. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled; cancellations take effect at the end of the current paid period. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with advance notice before changes apply to existing subscriptions.

30-day money-back guarantee

For new paid subscriptions, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your first payment by contacting info@energy-data.io. Refunds are processed within 14 days of a valid withdrawal notice. This guarantee applies once per account.

Uptime

We guarantee 98% monthly uptime for paid accounts and 99% monthly uptime for Enterprise accounts. If uptime falls below the applicable threshold due to a cause within our control, you may request a subscription extension or prorated refund. Free accounts have no uptime guarantee. Scheduled maintenance, security updates, and third-party or force majeure outages are excluded from uptime calculations.

7. Uploading Data

You may upload files in the following formats: CSV, XLS, XLSX, PDF, and any additional formats we make available. File size and quantity limits are shown in the Service interface. By uploading data, you confirm that you have the legal right to process it in this context, that it does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights, and that you will not upload payment card data, regulated health records, or personal data of individuals who have not consented to this processing. Uploaded data is automatically parsed, column-mapped (sometimes with AI assistance), and stored in your workspace database. This processing is necessary to provide the Service.

8. SQL Execution

Authenticated users can run SQL queries against their linked workspace database. You are responsible for the intent and impact of all queries you submit, including those that modify or delete data. We are not liable for losses caused by user-initiated queries. Back up critical data before running destructive operations.

9. Shared Dashboards and Public Links

You can share dashboards via links with optional expiry dates, passwords, and manual revocation. You are responsible for how you distribute links and who receives access. We do not guarantee that revoked links are instantly inaccessible if they have been cached or forwarded externally. Shared dashboards may display static snapshots or live data depending on your settings. Public share endpoints are subject to rate limiting to protect service stability.

10. AI Features and Model Providers

Data transmission. When you use AI-assisted features, your inputs and relevant context may be transmitted to the applicable model provider. Do not enter passwords, API secrets, personal identification data, or other sensitive credentials in chat prompts. Training opt-out. We have opted out of allowing your data to be used to train third-party AI models where contractually available. We cannot guarantee this across all providers, as their policies may change. Internal optimization. We may use anonymized, aggregated usage data to improve Energy-Data.io workflows and agent behavior. This does not include personally identifiable information or raw customer datasets. AI output disclaimer. AI outputs can be incorrect. Review all AI-generated queries, summaries, and analysis before acting on them operationally or commercially. The Service does not constitute legal, financial, tax, engineering, or other professional advice.

11. Content Usage and Resale

General prohibition. You may not directly resell datasets, reports, or raw content outputs generated through the Service. You may embed derived insights into your own products, reports, or client deliverables, provided this does not constitute direct resale of the underlying datasets. Energy Saver Consultant exception. Active subscribers to the Energy Saver Consultant plan may resell generated datasets to their end clients as part of consulting services. This right terminates immediately upon cancellation or expiry of the subscription. Attribution. When incorporating Energy-Data.io outputs into client-facing materials, you are encouraged to attribute the source where practicable.

12. Customer List

If you register with a business email or indicate you are using the Service on behalf of a business, we may include your business name and logo in our public customer list. To opt out, contact info@energy-data.io. We will remove your details within three business days of a valid request.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to process, transmit, or store unlawful content
  • Attempt to access other users’ workspaces or data
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service infrastructure
  • Submit excessive or automated requests that degrade performance for others
  • Misuse shared links or public dashboard endpoints
  • Submit harmful, deceptive, or fraudulent instructions to the AI system
  • Use the Service to circumvent any applicable law or regulation

14. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or service failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural events, infrastructure outages, internet disruptions, or third-party service failures.

15. Availability and Maintenance

We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access beyond the commitments in Section 6. Planned maintenance will be scheduled during low-traffic periods with reasonable advance notice where possible.

16. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Mauritius law: we provide the Service “as is” without warranty of any kind; we are not liable for data loss, business interruption, or indirect or consequential damages; our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to fees you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or matters that cannot be excluded by applicable law. Statute of limitations. Claims must be brought within one year of the date you became aware of the relevant circumstances, and no later than five years after the event giving rise to the claim.

17. Data Retention After Termination

  • Paid accounts downgraded to free: Data is retained for up to 12 months following the last payment date.
  • Free accounts inactive for 6 months: Data may be archived or deleted after 30 days’ prior email notice.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Mauritius. The CISG does not apply. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mauritius, at the principal place of business of Onyx Dynamics Ltd.

20. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on the following providers. Their terms and privacy policies govern their handling of data in connection with their services.

MCP client platforms such as Anthropic Claude and OpenAI ChatGPT are not listed here. They are optional client applications you may connect to your account under Section 4. Their terms govern your use of those platforms separately from these Terms.
